News & Activities
Since Memorial Day weekend is a no guest weekend, RRPOA has decided to open the guest trailer during that weekend to be used as a member sign-in location. Members will also be able to buy ice at that location as well to try to minimize the time that members wait at the front gate. If you only need to sign in and/or buy ice we are encouraging you to utilize the guest trailer to speed the process for you.

REMINDER ABOUT THE CANALS
This is just a reminder to stay out of the canals and wet ponds. Due to some recent events of people riding in the canals while children were playing/swiming in the canal, RRPOA has placed poles by the canal next to the burned bridge. This was done due to safety concerns and environmental concerns. Members should note that there are signs asking them not to ride in the canals and the rules that you sign also states that you will not ride in either canals or wet ponds. We are asking members to please leave the signs and poles in tact by the canal to help us allow our children to safely swim in the canals and enjoy River Ranch without fear of being ran over. Also SWFMD wants us to keep out of the canals so that we do not restrict the flow of water nor do we have pollutents running to the Kissimmee River.
For those that were not able to attend the December 13, 2014 board meeting please find below the strategy proposed by our attorney. As it becomes available we will be sending newsletters and posting on our website future developments. For further questions regarding this strategy please contact you district director. Please click here to go directly to the list of district directors. If you are unsure of which district you are in you can click here. If you are still unsure, just pick a director to call and they will be sure to help you.
From Sunday night to Friday morning, those that use the buggy lot will need to sign in to use the key for the lot. Also, just a reminder, if you are going to take your vehicle home that is in the lot you need to please inform Dawn at the gate. We perform walk throughs in the buggy lot and if a vehicle is missing and is not supposed to be, we then try contacting owners, etc. If we are not notified and you have taken your vehicle home then a lot of time is wasted contacting owners to determine where this vehicle is. We appreciate your help in this matter. If you have further questions please contact Dawn Law at the front gate.
This association does not have a designated target shooting area and discourages its members from target shooting in general due to the liabilities and dangers that this can impose. There are many members who are hunting, riding and enjoying these woods and it is too easy for an unsuspecting member to wander into an area that another member is target shooting in. We would not like to see any member get hurt or killed because of another members negligence. Recently we almost had this happen with some members that were target shooting and another member came around the bend and was almost hurt. Please remember that not everyone knows or understands the rules and dangers of target shooting and just because you think you are alone, there may be someone just around the corner or behind the trees riding or hunting that could be in harm’s way.
